ABOUT US
SUPPORTING THE LINCOLN PARK COMMUNITY SINCE 2007.
HISTORY
Founded in 2007, Lincoln Park Farmers Market was Downriver’s first farmers market and Wayne County’s first Sunday market. It is currently organized and run by Friends of Lincoln Park Farmers Market, a Michigan non-profit corporation and IRS 501c3 organization founded in 2012.
Our farmers come to Lincoln Park on Sundays through the market season, from Wayne, Monroe and Washtenaw Counties. They bring with them locally grown produce and plants. We do a variety of special events through the market season: Plant Swaps, Senior Day, Christmas in July, National Farmers Market Week, Health & Wellness Day and Fall Harvest Festival. We are members of the Michigan Farmers Market Association and the Farmers Market Coalition. Our mission is to promote healthy lifestyles and access to locally grown foods. We hope you will join us in sharing this healthy life and love from our team to your family and friends. LOCATION
Our vibrant market is at the highly visible vacant lot that we affectionately call "Mellus Park" on the east side of Fort Street, 1.5 blocks north of Southfield Road, between Park Restaurant and La Sultana. SEMCOG traffic counts indicate that over 20,000 cars pass through this intersection. Although that count is most likely for a weekday, Sunday traffic can be busy. Our market attracts approximately two hundred people, on average, per week and approximately three to twelve vendors per week depending on the weather, special events and if it is a holiday week or not.
